
We know it’s been a whirlwind week of either: a) patiently sitting outside your local Apple store, b) losing touch with family, friends, and significant others while buried knee-deep in your new phone / firmware, or c) desperately trying to ignore the iPhone. But it’s time to come up for air and take stock. This doesn’t mark the first time (nor will it be the last) that we’ve seen a handset totally disregard the Mickey Mouse and / or Apple trademarks, but it’s probably the only instance where both were violated on the same phone. According to our friends at AVING, HP is set to launch a business-themed tablet PC with Intel’s Centrino 2 on-board. The device — dubbed the Compaq 2730p — will be an update to the 2710p, and will feature a 12.1-inch WXGA display, a 1.86GHz Core 2 Duo L9400 CPU, 2GB of RAM, a 120GB hard drive, a GMA 4500MHD integrated graphics chipset, and Windows Vista… of course. For those of you queuing for the Q5, Audi has let loose a flood of new info on its high performance, low consumption, relatively low emission sports SUV. Consumers outside the U.S., get to choose between one of two diesel-sipping TDIs — of 170 hp and 240 hp — that are the envy of Stateside quattrophiles. Even with that 240 hp and 369 lb-ft, you’ll still get 31 MPG. Folks in the fifty U.S. will need to make do with the 211 hp, 2.0-liter V6 FSI… which isn’t exactly a complaint. A full-scale prototype of the composite carbon fiber , two-seater A5 demoed its flight creds and performance with a series of maneuvers including take-off, landing, on-water capabilities and low-speed flight. Role-playing game fans who own a PlayStation 3 have been desperately waiting for some big RPG titles to hit the console. Valkyria Chronicles may be the answer. It is a visual treat with gorgeous watercolor graphics, and it is backed by some compelling gameplay, using a new turn-based battle system called blitz. The game uses a new “CANVAS” engine, developed internally by Sega Game Studios in Japan.
